To customize the components of an assigned unit

The Customize command on the Design Assistant's Actions menu is used to alter the makeup of an assigned unit. This command opens the Unit Assistant and displays the components of the selected unit so that you can add and remove components. When you customize a unit, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer creates a private custom unit containing your modifications and substitutes this unit for the original unit, which remains intact in the Units Catalog. The new custom unit is also added to the Units folder and the Favorites page of the catalog so that you can use it in other designs.

1. In the Design Assistant, select the assigned unit that you want to modify.
2. On the Actions menu, point to Units and then click Customize to open the Unit Assistant.

   Or right-click the unit and choose Customize from the shortcut menu.

3. To add a component, drag it from the Units Catalog to the Component List. To delete a component, right-click the item and choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
4. Click the Save button on the Units Toolbar and close the Unit Assistant.
